Under the Geneva agreement signed in 1962, Laos became a neutral country where foreign troops could not be stationed here. However, during the Vietnam War, in order to carry out an air strikes on the North Vietnam targets more accurately, the U.S. Air Force secretly deployed the L85 radar position in Laos and started a “secret war” that lasted for a short period of time. L85 is located on the top of Mount Fas in Laos. This mountain 3 nearly vertical, and heavily guarded, it can be described as easily defensible. Americans simply do not believe the Vietnamese army can fly to the mountains with its wings. However, on the night of 10 to 19 March 1968, a small group of North Vietnamese engineers, climbing from the mountain side to the top of the mountain, under the cover of heavy artillery and infantry attacks, captured the radar position and killed some U.S. soldiers. In the years since the fall, the fate of the L85 radar position has always been considered top secret, and the news reports are not exhaustive and accurate. Even now, there are still many questions about this matter.
