Some member nations of the United Nations have been disputed over the technical plan of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations to spend 40 million U.S. dollars to establish a command, control, communications and intelligence (C ~ 3I) system. However, this plan has the support of the Pentagon. The Department of Peacekeeping Operations plans to establish the C ~ 3I system were developed by the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency for the purpose of building a global, modern communications network that would provide the Department of Peacekeeping Operations with confidential voice and data communications capabilities and local radios Broadcasting, logistics planning and database building capabilities.
