巨幼细胞贫血是多种原因引起的以增殖细胞呈巨幼变为形态特征的一组贫血综合征,DNA合成速度减慢是其共同的生化基础。当体内储存的叶酸或维生素B_(12)耗竭不能满足机体造血需要时,出现营养性巨幼细胞贫血,它是叶酸和维生素B_(12)缺乏的晚期表现。据统计巨幼细胞贫血病因中,95%为营养性叶酸或维生素B_(12)缺乏。诊断营养性巨幼细胞贫血,叶酸或维生素B_(12)治疗必须有特效。
