大家知道,在地压的作用下,具有突出危险的煤层内部孔隙和裂隙都很小。为了增大煤体的透气性系数,就要人为地在煤层中造成空隙,必须采取措施沟通及扩展煤层内部的裂隙网。对于单一煤层来讲,则只有在煤层内部本身采取措施,张开原有煤层裂隙,造成新裂隙及局部卸压条件,才能改善煤层内部瓦斯流动状况。
