Insulin-like growth factor (IGF) promotes the division and differentiation of tissue cells, regulates the metabolism, growth and reproduction of organisms and is prevalent among organisms. IGF has been isolated from a variety of species, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, and has a high homology among various species. IGF research in mammals has been more in-depth, but also for fish IGF also mainly in salmon trout, Cyprinidae, Perciformes, Japanese eel, oyster, zebrafish, turbot several varieties. This article reviewed the research progress of fish IGF from the aspects of molecular structure, physiological function, influencing factors and research prospects.
