June 2, since entering the digital age, the battery on the electronic device caused numerous troubles, they are expensive, change the trouble, but also cause ecological pollution. But if the technology under study at Washington University in the United States can come true, future electronic devices will no longer need batteries. At the EmTech conference in San Francisco, Shyam Gollakota, an associate professor of computer science and engineering at Washington University, demonstrated a completely new way of powering electronic devices. Known as the Ambient Backscatter, this technology transmits binary code by alternately absorbing and reflecting over-the-air Wi-Fi or television signals, which keeps the electronics ready to run out of battery power. Glacotta said past experiments showed that a small amount of power could be transmitted over Wi-Fi signals, but that would cause too much interference and make the wireless network slower.
