2008年8月19日,国家大剧院“中国钢琴之夜”开启大幕,那是一场盛况空前的艺术盛会,一场前所未有的钢琴盛典。为打造这一艺术盛况,国家大剧院广纳智慧、精心策划,筹办历时近一年之久。这场音乐盛事云集全球钢琴名家,荟萃了经典钢琴作品。郎朗、刘诗昆、克劳德·弗兰克、菲利普·昂特蒙等十位大师深情献艺,十架九尺世界名琴同台呈现,全世界第一支为十架钢琴所作的协奏曲隆重面世。在国家大剧院长达五个多月的奥运演出季中,“中国钢琴之夜”堪数其间一朵独特、耀眼的奇葩,让全世界的目光纷纷注视北京、瞩目08奥运,并用特别的方式普天同庆、祝福中华。国家大剧院艺术总监陈佐湟细数了此前世界上的一些钢琴主题活动,他介绍说,2003年7月,在瑞士韦而比耶音乐节成立10周年的庆典上,曾有8位钢琴家同台合奏,其规模在当时已堪称世界之最。而“中国钢琴之夜”已经打破这一纪录,创造了又一个令人兴奋的时刻。
