A series of new studies show that prolonging “day” can make livestock provide us with more food. Before proceeding with these new studies, it is only known that the daytime “day” of the hen is extended to 14 to 16 hours. The number of eggs they can reach the maximum. US Michigan State University research cow science staff did such a test. In winter, there are nine to twelve hours of sunshine each day. They give cattle a light of sixteen hours a day. As a result, the calves grow 10% more each day than before. What surprised them even more was that the feed they consumed did not increase. They also pointed out that if the dairy cow had 16 hours of light per day, the milk output also increased by 10% over the first 60 days over the natural winter sunshine.
