中药材绝大多数来源于动、植物,而且大部分又是季产年销的产品,流通环节多。如何保障中药材饮片安全流通,确保中药材饮片质量,包装至关重要。合理的包装不仅可以保护中药材饮片的完整和清洁,还能防止微生物、害虫等侵蚀以及避免外界温湿度和有害气体、阳光的影响。目前,全国不少地方使用包装中药材饮片的材料大都是就地取材,包装简陋,很多起不到保护作用,常常造成中药材饮片变质,如发霉、生虫、变色、泛油、气味挥发、腐烂等。
