1建设背景佛山市自2012年获得全国绿化模范城市以来,不断加大绿化建设投入,继续开展新一轮绿化佛山大行动和城市升级3年行动计划,推动绿色发展。紧紧团结省委省政府对珠三角九市建设森林城市群的战略部署,佛山市委市政府乘势而上,于2013年正式启动国家森林城市的创建工作,以此为抓手,大力推进森林生态修复和改造,提升城市绿量和森林质量,建设绿色生态城市和美丽宜居家园。佛山于2015年印发《广东省佛山市国家森林城市建设总体规划(2012—2022年)(2015年修订)》
