随着原子能工业的发展,鈾矿的尋找和开采工作正在飞速地发展着。世界各国对鈾的需要量正在不断增长,鈾矿找矿工作开展得愈来愈广泛和深入,鈾矿的开采和提鍊技术也在不断地改进。从目前已知情况来看,鈾矿矿床的主要工业类型有两个:一是热液矿床,其特点是品位好,儲量大;一是沉积型矿床,包括砂岩型鈾矿、磷灰岩型鈾矿和含鈾煤与頁岩,它們的特点是品位低(含鈾0.1%或更低),层位稳定,分布广,儲量大。
