金属塑料是近二十年来才发展起来的一种新材料,它是由金属材料与高分子材料通过一定的方法复合而成的,它兼有金属材料与高分子材料两者的长处,而又克服了彼此在性能上的某些缺陷,相互取长补短。因而,这种新材料具有强度高、耐磨性好、能自润滑、导热系数大和线膨胀系数小等优点。当它与金属材料对摩时,具有摩擦系数低、磨损量小、又无需外加润滑油加以润滑等特点。英国Glacier公司生产的“DU”材料是著名的金属塑料产品,具有十分优良的性能。我国近年也生产出一批类似于“DU”的金属材料,但由于“DU”材料结构复杂,工艺流程长,价格昂贵,技术要求高,使推广“DU”材料受到限制。我们经过反复试验与摸索试制成一种烧结钢——聚四氟乙烯金属塑料,其性能与“DU”相仿经在汽车某些零件上应用,效果良好。
