Objective: To investigate the clinical observation of the treatment of severe craniocerebral injury caused by hiatal hiatal hernia by the canopy appendectomy. Methods: One hundred and sixty-six patients with severe craniocerebral injury complicated with hiatal hernia formed in our hospital from February 2013 to January 2014 were enrolled in this study. The patients were randomly divided into three groups: control group (n = 83) 83 patients in the study group were treated with canopy hole dissection to investigate the postoperative complications in both groups. Results: The incidence of postoperative arterial infarction in study group was 12%, the incidence of ulcer was 13% and the incidence of hydrocephalus was 10%. Compared with control group, the incidence of arterial infarction was 40%, 46% and 51% respectively (P <0.05). CONCLUSION: The use of canopies for the treatment of severe craniocerebral injury caused by hiatal hernia can effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and improve the treatment. It is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
