同志们、朋友们:中国人民政治协商会议第二届全国委员会第二次全体会议现在开幕了。这次会议原来准备在195年第四季举行,但是由于当时全国社会主义改造事业发展很快,大家都忙于工作,不容易抽出时间,因而推迟到现在。这也给我们一种便利,使我们现在可以比较容易地总结社会主义改造的经验了。这次会议除原有545位委员外,有119位新委员,同时还有626位各界人士列席,共计1,290人。这个事实表明,随着社会主义事业的前进,我国的人民民主统一战线比以前更加广泛、更加强大了。全国各方面的人士,看到我们伟大祖国的兴盛,表现了空前未有的爱国热忱,表现了空前未有的政治积极性和团结一致。这是值得庆贺的气象。依靠全国各族人民和各界人士的团结奋斗,我们祖国的各项事业一定会进行得更加顺利,更加迅速。(热烈掌声)
Comrades and friends: The 2nd Plenary Session of the Second National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference is now inaugurated. The meeting was originally scheduled to be held in the fourth quarter of 195. However, due to the rapid development of the national socialist transformation at that time and the busy schedule of work, it was not easy for us to withdraw time and was delayed until now. This also gives us the convenience that we can now sum up the experience of socialist transformation more easily. In addition to the original 545 members, 119 new members and 626 persons from all walks of life attended the meeting, a total of 1,290 people. This fact shows that with the progress of the socialist cause, the people’s democratic united front in our country has become more extensive and powerful than before. All walks of life in the country have seen the prosperity of our great motherland, demonstrated unprecedented patriotic enthusiasm, demonstrated unprecedented political enthusiasm and solidarity. This is a celebration of the weather. By relying on the concerted efforts of the people of all nationalities in the country and people from all walks of life, the undertakings of our motherland will surely go on smoothly and rapidly.
