A strong signal at the start of the Berlin Fashion Week: Dr Gerd Müller, Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, will open the Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin together with Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, at 10.00 hrs on Monday, January 19th, 2015. The Minister will talk about the latest developments in connection with the Textiles Partnership he launched in October. Subsequently, visitors and representatives of the press are invited to take part in a tour of the two events.
Great fashion spectrum
Among the labels taking part in the Greenshowroom will be: Amazona Secrets, Bodhisattva - Reimagining Fashion, Grain de Brune, Linda Mai Phung, Marion Kracht Design by Lana, Nine to five, Silkboxx, Sveekery and Wabi Sabi Eco Fashion Concept.
Other highlights include Cocccon, Deepmello, Gotsutsumu, Katrien van Hecke, Lillika Eden, Maria Seifert Collections, Reet Aus, Schreif, Studio Elsien Gringhuis and Xess+Baba. At the Ethical Fashion Show, the line-up will include the following labels: People Tree, Lanius, Lana, Alma&Lovis, Komodo, Quagga, Sey Jeans, Mud Jeans, Pearl of Laja, Good Society, Elementum by Daniela Pais, Globe Hope, Grand Step Shoes, Nurmi and Recolution. The new labels include Skunkfunk, Ansoho, Ramnation, Up-Rise, Langerchen and Mandala.
Showcase: “Don’t let me down”
With a showcase, the GreenroomVoice online platform provides an overview of the subject of ‘Ethical down feathers’ with information about the different standards and alternatives to insulating with down feathers. To be seen will be outfits by Fj?ll R?ven as best-practice examples for an individually, fully monitored down-feather supply chain. Patagonia presents the Trace- able Down Standard. The Responsible Down Standard by Textile Exchange is shown by examples from Salewa, Helly Hansen and Vaude. Attention will also be paid to recycled down feathers from Nekodun, which are used by Ternua. Additionally alternative forms of insulation from PrimaLoft and swisswool will also be on show and illustrated by products from Pyua, Bleed, Ecoalf and Mover.

Participants in the two fairs can look forward to an attractive programme of events: at 15.30 hrs on January 20th, 2015, selected labels will present highlights from their new collections at the Salonshow. Actress Marion Kracht will show her own vegan collection on the catwalk: Marion Kracht Design by Lana. The other brands showing their outfits: Alma & Lovis, austriandesign.at, Aiby Craft, Cabo by Milka, Cocccon, Deepmello, Esmod Berlin, Farrah Floyd, Inti Ferreira, Jan n’ June, Katrien Van Hecke, Lillika Eden, Linda Mai Phung, Lotta, Maria Seifert Collections, Perfect Lullaby, Pira, SilkBoxx, Skrabak, Studio Elsien Gringhuis, Sveekery, WalkBoxx, Xess+Baba and Zora Heinicke. A comprehensive programme of lectures in the in ‘Knowledge Lounge’ will offer valuable insights into sustainability in the fashion industry whereby special attention will be devoted to the subjects of fair trade and sustainable supply-chain management. The ‘Create Green Breakfast’ at 11.00 hrs on 21st will revolve around the subject of ‘Ethical Down’. But that’s not all: the fairs for green fashions will also be distinguished by a large number of VIPs: in addition to Dr Gerd Müller and Marion Kracht, Dr Gisela Burckhardt will present her new book, ‘Todschick’(Dressed to kill). She will be accompanied for the presentation by Hannes Jaenicke.
