Anti-submarine warfare plays a very important role in the naval operations at sea. The P-3 “Orion ” (Orion also translated as the pig seat) is an important part of its anti-submarine warfare. After the end of the Cold War, the U.S. Navy made major adjustments to its maritime strategy, shifting the main combat mode from offshore operations at sea to joint operations from the sea and transiting the main battlefield from the ocean to the coastal zone, putting forward the anti-submarine combat capability of the U.S. Navy The new challenge requires that the anti-submarine equipment must be able to cope with the new generation of “quiet” submarines in areas with high ambient noise and complex acoustical conditions in shallow and coastal areas.
