Media culture is a manifestation of the cultural outlook of contemporary society and a brand new form of popular culture. In the west, the media culture is the product of the development of contemporary capitalism. It is inextricably linked with the shift of contemporary culture and the change of life style, and has profound economic roots and political roots. The Frankfurt School and the Birmingham School promoted the study of mass culture from different perspectives and revealed the turning of contemporary culture. Since the 1970s, western post-modernism has shown a great interest in popular culture and greatly expanded the connotation and denotation of culture. In the aspect of social life, the appearance of the consumerism lifestyle and the development of mass media technology have directly contributed to the emergence of media culture.
