卫生防疫防治工作是保护人民健康、造福民族的伟大事业。四十年来,在党和政府的正确领导下,我国卫生防疫防治工作者积极贯彻“预防为主”的方针,大力预防和控制各种急慢性传染病、寄生虫病、地方病和职业病,深入开展卫生监督监测和群众性的除害灭病活动。经过几十年来的努力奋斗,终于在一个11亿人口的大国中,彻底医治好了旧中国几千年来留下的百病肆虐的毒疮,取得了举世瞩目的伟大成就,为国家的发展强盛和民族的振兴繁荣
