文章从资源优势、后发优势，发展的能力，发展的协调性以及“十八大”精神赋予的艰巨使命等方面，阐述了贵州跨越式发展的条件，分析了所面临的不利因素。作者认为如何深刻领会“十八大”精神，加大步伐、加快速度发展贵州，让贵州实现跨越式发展，是当前和今后一段时期贵州各族人民艰巨的历史使命。
