Kunshan Xiefu Artificial Leather Co., Ltd. is a joint venture of Kunshan Artificial Leather Fabric Factory and Shanghai Arts & Crafts Import & Export Company and Hong Kong Xiefu Industrial Co., Ltd. It mainly produces nitric acid soft leather, polyvinyl chloride needle foam leather and thin artificial leather. The company integrates industrial and trading joint ventures and Sino-foreign joint ventures, with a total investment of 2.05 million U.S. dollars, registered capital of 1.55 million U.S. dollars, fixed assets of 13 million U.S. dollars, and 297 employees. In 1990, the company produced a total of 5,589,200 meters of artificial leather, realized an output value of 5,415.88 million yuan, sales of 46,703,300 yuan and a profit of 4,449,000 yuan, which were higher than the 1989 increase before the joint venture.
