“太史公曰”是《史记》文章之独创结构,是史家发言之特殊形式,是司马迁“一家之言”的重要内容,也是其著书见意之重要手段.向为治文史者所重.对“太史公日”之创构、称谓、特色、作用与影响的分析研究,关系到对《史记》文章之理解,关系着对司马迁“一家之言”的认识,也牵涉到如何看待“太史公曰”这种特殊发言形式对后世史传、文籍的影响.而以往对其分析研究、犹嫌不足.近年来,差不多所有《史记》研究者,均以为“太史公曰”由《左传》“君子曰”发展而来,甚至有区分“大史公曰”为“篇前论“、“篇中论”、“篇后论”者,总不离一个“论”字:正是在其创构、称谓、特色、作用与影响等方面,思之未慎,论之未详,故本文陈述浅见,祈识者指正.
