最近一段时间,尽管受到了行业巨头英特尔公司的重重挤压,威盛公司仍旧动作频频。他们一方面在公堂上与英特尔公司针锋相对,据理力争,另一方面又在市场上连施重拳,对英特尔公司进行有力的反击。2001年10月15日,威盛公司正式成立酝酿已达两年之久的威盛平台解决方案事业部(VIA Platform Solution Division,简称VPSD),紧接着威盛又宣布推出两款威盛品牌的主板VIA P4XB-S和P4XB-M,并趁热打铁地进一步推出了基于Intel Pentium4平台的新一代的VIA Apollo P4X266A系统芯片组。VPSD的成立和威盛自有品牌主机板的推出,预示着威盛与英特尔为了争夺市场占有率,将开始新一轮的较量。
In recent days, VIA’s operations have been repeated despite heavy pressure from industry giant Intel. On the one hand, they competed against Intel on the court of law and argued on the basis of arguments. On the other hand, they repeatedly applied heavy blows in the market to make a strong counterattack against Intel Corporation. On October 15, 2001, VIA officially established the VIA Platform Solution Division (VPSD) which has been brewing for two years. VIA P4XB announced that it will launch two VIA P4XB motherboards. S and P4XB-M, and hotly launched a new generation of VIA Apollo P4X266A system chipset based on Intel Pentium4 platform. The establishment of VPSD and the launch of VIA’s own-brand motherboards signal that VIA and Intel will begin a new round of competition in order to compete for market share.
