中国港口协会跨世纪发展的历史重任落在了屠德铭的身上,港口界人士开始关注他,希望了解他,希望通过他了解中国港口协会的未来。 在5月召开的中国港口协会五届一次理事会上,上海港务局局长屠德铭当选为理事长。屠德铭,1940年生,浙江人,1964年毕业于上海海运学院,先后担任上海港务局计划处科长、副处长、处长、上海市人民政府交通办公室副主任、港务局局长,同时还是国际港口协会理事,曾任中国港口协会四届理事会第一副理事长。他长期从事交通运输管理工作,尤其擅长港口的经营和管理。由这样一位主管中国大陆最大港口的局长出任中港协理事长,的确是最合适的人选。
