1985年作者应邀赴美国加州Modesto市太平洋企业公司莲园进行合作研究,当年利用该园已种植的美国品种一Mrs.Ferry D.Slocum作亲本进行人工自花授粉,获得一株开黄色大花,高度重瓣,乃目前世界上唯一的重瓣、黄色、大花的莲花品种,被定为新品种,经陈俊愉教授定名为‘友谊牡丹’莲(Neiumó×nucifera cv.Friendship Peony),从而填补了中国荷花中缺少重瓣黄花品种的空白。
In 1985, the author was invited to go to Lianyuan, a Pacific-based company in Modesto, California, for a cooperative study. In the same year, she used artificial self-pollination of a U.S. variety, Mrs.Ferry D.Slocum, planted in the park to obtain a large yellow flower, Highly heavy petals, the only lotus flower of the double, yellow, and large flowers in the world, have been designated as new breeds and have been filled by Professor Chen Ju-sheng as “Neiumó × nucifera cv. Friendship Peony” Chinese lotus in the lack of double-breed varieties of yellow blank.
