Islet cell antibodies (ICA) and glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody (GADA) are human autoantibodies. It has been reported that the positive rate of GADA in Asian patients with diabetes is lower than that in Caucasians, so some people suspect that autoimmunity may not play a dominant role in the pathogenesis of Asian diabetes. We examined the distribution of ICA and GADA in some patients with type I diabetes to explore the clinical significance of the diagnosis of this disease
