Price discrimination is one of the most common types of abuse of domination. After the introduction of economic analysis in the antitrust law, one finds that such behavior can yield significant efficiencies in many situations and requires a trade-off between its positive and negative effects. Literally, price discrimination is forbidden whenever there is a limit to competition.
