Based on the time series data of annual runoff and sediment discharge of major rivers entering Zhejiang in 1961-2012, combined with the precipitation and related human activities in the basin, through mathematical statistics, the multi-scale variation process of water and sediment flux into the sea was expounded. The results show that the runoff of Zhejiang into the sea from 1961 to 2012 fluctuated up and down based on the average of many years without obvious trend change. The fluctuation of precipitation was the main factor affecting the interannual variation of runoff. In the past 50 years, the interannual fluctuation of sediment load in rivers has been rather violent, showing an overall decreasing trend. The double cumulative fitting curves of runoff modulus and sediment transport modulus show that there are 2 ~ 5 time-varying characteristics of sediment load, the sediment discharge decreased significantly in each stage and human activities are closely related to the basin water and soil conservation, water conservancy Pivotal construction, artificial sand mining and other activities have changed the process of river water and sediment.
