For the word “presence,” no dictionary meaning or authoritative discussion can determine its meaning so that anyone who uses it accepts it. So when we use it, we have a lot of freedom to adjust its meaning. In fact, the only practical requirement in using this term is to maximize our understanding of the humanities. When trying to satisfy this requirement, I relate it to reproduction. What I want to focus on is a variant of reproduction, in the sense that the past is allowed to enter the present by a “stealing” (Roya) approach so that in the historical reappearance the past literally became “just now”. In analyzing this variant of historical reproduction, I have taken into account the so-called “parallel process” concept used by Rhonia.
