我国金属矿山长期以来采用70B2、2BY 系列风机作为主扇.这类风机属中高压、仿苏四十年代产品,与金属矿山通风网络不相匹配,实际运转效率仅30%左右,造成能量很大浪费,通风效果也不好.矿山节能推广站研制推广的 K 系列节能风机的主要特点是低风压、大风量,气动性能优越,能与金属矿山通风网路相匹配,实际运转效率可达70—80%以上.据不完全统计,目前在全国已推广 K 系列节能风机3000台,累计节电3亿度.河北金厂峪金矿、云南东川矿务局等都取得了很好的经验.
