This article examines the impact of uncoated hot isostatic pressing on the mechanical properties of alloy 90W-7Ni-3Fe and the relationship between fracture mode and mechanical properties. Sub-solidus hot isostatic pressing significantly improved the ductility of the sintered samples with low elongation (<10%) (three times the original). For a sintered sample with an elongation of 20-25%, this can be somewhat improved (1.3-1.4 times as much). This article explores the mechanism of hot isostatic pressing on alloying. The improvement of mechanical properties is mainly attributed to the decrease of hydrogen content and the increase of the interfacial bonding strength between matrix and tungsten grains, which is determined by comparison with argon heat treatment and vacuum heat treatment.
