In March this year, in the German port city of Duisburg on the Rhine, Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed a freight train to the station during the third gong sound. He delivered a speech calling on Germany and China to jointly build a “new Silk Road” connecting the economies of the two countries. Xi Jinping’s move is intended to invite Germany to participate in a strategic focus of the project. Since taking office in 2013, Xi Jinping has made many speeches during his trip on the idea of building a new Silk Road between China and Europe. When visiting Sri Lanka and attending a groundbreaking ceremony for a $ 1.5 billion investment in port projects, he proposed the construction of “21st Century Maritime Silk Road.” One motivation for Xi Jinping to come up with these magnificent ideas is that he hopes to strengthen ties with Europe in mainland China, especially in the western region. If these initiatives come true, that would probably be the equivalent of China20
