《新大陆游记》是梁启超赴美考察美国政治、经济、文化和社会情况的记录,是较为全面和深刻的认识。他看到了美国美好繁荣的一面。但是,经济繁荣后面的贫穷、自由平等后面的不平等和政治制度的弊端与黑暗同时让梁启超认识到美国的另一面。梁启超在新大陆游记中如实地揭示了这些问题并加以较为客观地分析。从两个美国也可以看到梁启超具有一个改革者所应有的批判精神。
Travel in the New World is a comprehensive and profound understanding of Liang Qichao’s visit to the United States for the inspection of the political, economic, cultural and social conditions in the United States. He saw the beautiful and prosperous side of the United States. However, the poverty behind the economic boom, the inequality behind liberal equality and the flaws and darkness of the political system at the same time allow Liang to realize the other side of the United States. Liang Qichao truly revealed these problems in the new world travelogue and analyzed them more objectively. From the two U.S.s, Liang Qichao can also see the critical spirit demanded by a reformer.
