The results of pot experiment on seedlings of two-year-old seedlings in different soil drought conditions show that Eucommia ulmoides has strong adaptability to soil water stress. This adaptability is achieved through three regulatory processes, namely the regulation of stomatal movements through feedback control of leaf water saturation and K+ content; osmotic adjustment through proline accumulation, and through active oxygen scavengers (such as The change in the activity of the oxide oxidase) regulates the balance of free radicals.
