欧阳修《醉翁亭记》一文用了25个“而”字,用法随内容之异而多变。“而”这个词在文言中大多做连词。所谓连词,就是指连接词与词、词组与词组或句子与句子的虚词。连词可以表并列、递进、修饰、假设、转折、承接、因果、目的等多种关系。下面就根据“而”所表示的前后项关系的不同,分类归纳如下:
