郁达夫以《沉沦》为代表的浓郁“自传体”小说在五四文坛以独特而强烈的自剖内审视 ,全盘托出一群觉醒青年的时代病态生存境遇 ,并以之击碎传统文化板层 ,揭示出“自由”、“解放”的呼唤与剪不断、理还乱的传统文化情结 ,以及二者之间所构成的张力与个体的生存悖论 ,敞明“集体无意识”对个体命运的凋蔽隐匿。作为历史的分子范畴 ,郁氏小说不可避免地带有时代烙印 ,既向往“自由”与“解放” ,又找不着出路的二律背反状态
