近年来,我省疟疾春季传播休止期,头年无疟史发病患者急剧增多。一九七一年七月初我们在鹿邑县观堂公社调查,当年1～6月份现症疟疾患者占该社全年发病数的54.7%,其中一九七○年无疟史者竟占55%。这些患者不是休止期抗复发治疗的对象,如果仍沿用对头年有疟史者进行休止期抗复发治疗,不能控制春末夏初的发病高峯,这一事实已于一九七一年春末夏初在鹿邑县所证实。这段时间正值农忙季节,由于疟疾发病人数很多,影响到夏收夏种的劳动出勤率。上级指示我组,在观堂公社探索一种新方法,以控制春末夏初疟疾发病
