《布鲁斯特街的女人们》是格罗里亚·内勒的处女作小说。小说用碎片式拼贴手法讲述了生活在布鲁斯特街的七位黑人女性的故事。小说的成功除了得益于内勒对后现代现实主义手法的精湛演绎,其独有的语言特色也为之增色不少。内勒运用多种文体学手段来组织小说的观点,实现小说的发展,用不同的意象成功地塑造了七位主人公。本文将着力解读小说《布鲁斯特街的女人们》中的主人公意象。
“The women of Brewster Street” is a novel about the debut of Gloria Nelle. The novel tells the story of seven black women living on Brewster Street in a piecemeal collage. In addition to the success of the novel thanks to Naylor’s postmodernist realism superb interpretation, its unique language features also add a lot of color. Neller used a variety of stylistic means to organize the novel’s point of view, to achieve the development of the novel, with different images successfully shaped seven protagonists. This article will focus on the interpretation of the protagonist image in the novel “The Brewers Street.”
