Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of bloodletting plus point implantation of catgut in the treatment of 67 cases of vascular headache. Methods: A total of 107 cases of vascular headache patients were divided into treatment group (n=67) and control group (n=40). Bilateral Taiyang (EX-HN 5) and Jiaosun (TE 20) were pricked with a needle to let a little blood out, once every 4 days. Bilateral Fengmen (BL 12) and Ganshu (BL 18) were used for embedding catgut, once every 16 days. Patients of control group were ordered to take Rotunding, Oryzanol and Nimodipine, 3 times daily. Results: After 16 days treatment, of the 67 cases in treatment group, 26 were cured, 37 responded with improvement in their symptoms and 4 failed; while of the 40 cases in control group, 10 were cured, 19 responded with improvement in their symptoms and 11 failed.
