North American Rayon and others are developing a unique Rotary Rate Class Boiler (RCBB) that uses inferior fuels and controls pollution locally. The principle of RCBB technology can be considered as a compound of a fluidized bed burner and a rotary kiln. It has two characteristics: (1) The cylindrical combustion device maintains a certain rotational speed, so that solid (fuel, ash and limestone) falls from the time covered with flue gas space. In order to promote the cascade effect, the inner wall of the cylinder is provided with non-slip (or lift) parts.
