由于各种原因,名满天下的黄苗子先生一直没有举办过艺术个展。96岁的大艺术家于2008年9月13日第一次举办艺术个展。本次展览不但展出历年创作的精品,而且多幅新作是第一次亮相。黄苗子先生非常重视此次展览,并希望拿出最新的作品给老朋友看看。几幅最新的作品如《砍头不要紧,只要主义真》(金文异字)、《菩提无树》、《戉箙卣铭文》(金文异字)、《带雨云埋一半山》等均别出新意。尤其是书法作品《砍头不要紧,只要主义真》(金文异字),将古代金文文字与绘画艺术结合,突出“文字起源来自视觉的显现”的特定文化效果,纸本之中既有金文字的形象画,又有书法对金文字的书法释意,使人忍不住联想到苗子先生早期的漫画作品与书法的结合性,此作品中钤印的使用也很有讲究,字画之间印章的红色与金文字的红色共同构成了交叉性构图类型中的“右延伸效果”构图,这种构图对字画中“砍头的刀叉”起到了更突出的空间提取作用。另外,无论是绘画语言,还是书法字迹之中,都体现了苗子先生一种乐观向上,坚强不屈的文化精神,这既有其一贯的人格,又有其人生的信念。
