From January to March this year, China’s steel output reached 82.5348 million tons, an increase of 22.39% over the same period of the previous year and maintained its high growth momentum. Apparent consumption of steel was 83.3148 million tonnes (including duplicates), an increase of 74.305 million tonnes or 9.79% over the same period of previous year, representing an increase of 3.21 percentage points from 13% in 2004.
