蓝水之王中国海军在建设现代海基航空作战力量的途径和方向上应当史具有前瞻性的眼界和思维,而无须沿续他国持续数十年斥巨资打造大批重型航母舰队的旧辙。此既非现实国力所能承受,亦非中国海军的任务能力所需,实际上还必然会表现为在现代科技进步面前的固步自封和刻舟求剑。而且就中型航母的性能而言,其有能力搭载和使用长航时无人预警机、反潜巡逻无人机及相当数量高性能隐身多功能无人攻击/战斗机,这样一支舰舰编队的整体作战能力并不亚于今天的大型航毋战斗群。对于当今中国海军而言,发展以航空母舰为标志的舰队航空兵已经不再是一个需要讨论的问题.而是十分紧迫的实际需求。作为一个海洋大国,纵然有强大的岸基航空兵及先进航天军事系统的支特,也终究只能在岸基空中力量有效作战半径所能覆盖的近海海域发挥作用。而随着现代军事科技的飞速发展,来自海洋方向的军事威胁已经日益趋向更远距离。如果我们的国防能力不能做到与时俱进,则必然无法胜任贯彻积极防御的国家国防战略。至于在经济全球化时代有效维护国家的海上经济命脉和海洋权益,则更是无从谈起。
