在计算机的通讯中,串行接口是最简单的接口,它的连接线的数量少,这种通讯线路已经标准化了,目前国内外广泛使用的普及标准是RS—232—C接口,但用别的方法也能达到RS—232标准接口卡的功能。在我国大、中学的物理实验室中,广泛使用的是廉价的APPLEⅡ微机,我们在APPLEⅡ计算机上用6502汇编语言编程,利用它的游戏接口,进行串行发送或接收数据,这就可以达到RS—232标准接口卡的功能。这个方法不需要增加任何硬件,只仅仅需要在两台APPLEⅡ计算机之间联接三根线,因此,非常经济、实用。关于APPLEⅡ微机游戏接口的介绍,参阅《物理实验》1989年第5期(p.211-215),
