埃森曼的这席话,道出了他建筑活动的真实特征、也代表了解构主义的典型精神状态:虚无主义(Nihilism)。查理斯·詹克斯(Charles Jencks)指名埃森曼(Eisenman)是这一虚无主义的黑色幽默家。反时代流行者,总是承受极大的心理压力,“嘲笑”似乎是很自然的解脱形式。埃森曼尽管以其深奥的理论独树一帜,但解脱压抑讥讽的心理被詹克斯视为建筑学术性背后的非严肃行为。但埃森曼同其他反现时主义者不同的是他的压抑解脱术隐藏得很深又很幽默,是一种极尖刻又控制适度的文人作法。
Eisenman’s remarks tell the true characteristics of his construction activities and also represent the typical mental state of deconstruction: Nihilism. Charles Jencks named Eisenman as the nihilistic black humorist. The popular anti-era era is always under great psychological pressure. “Laughing” seems to be a very natural form of relief. Although Eisenman was unique in his esoteric theory, the mentality of relieving ridiculous sarcasm was seen by Jenks as a non-serious act behind the academic nature of architecture. However, unlike other anti-currentists, Eisenman’s repression and relief is a deep and humorous one. He is a very spiky and well-controlled literary person.
