自1926年第一台涡输增压发动机用于飞机以来,航空用的增压发动机得到了迅速的发展。随着增压此的提高,使压气机出口的空气温度增高,因此必需应用空气冷却器来冷却增压空气。增压空气冷却器随着涡输增压装置的发展而愈来愈为完善。现今增压空气冷却器已被广泛应用在潜水艇用柴油机、辅助用柴油机、船用柴油机以及机车柴油机上。大多数柴油机都用水作为增压空气的冷却剂,因此本文主要是讨论这种冷却方法。其次,还将简要地讨论其他可取的冷却方法。
Since the first turbocharged engine was used in aircraft in 1926, booster engines for aviation have been rapidly developed. With this boosting, the temperature of the air at the outlet of the compressor is increased, so an air cooler must be used to cool the charge air. Charge air coolers are increasingly refined with the development of turbo-pressure boosters. Today, charge air coolers have been widely used in submarine diesel engines, auxiliary diesel engines, marine diesel engines and locomotive diesel engines. Most diesel engines use water as the charge air coolant, so this article focuses on this cooling method. Second, other desirable cooling methods will also be briefly discussed.
