George Lamin, one of the most influential writers of Caribbean-British immigration in the United States today, has gained a reputation in the international literary world for his detailed portrayal of the colonial history and culture in the Caribbean. His works are complex and difficult to understand, and his subjects are diverse. As a result, his works have been widely interpreted and researched by foreign scholars. His analysis and comments are especially from the perspectives of historical nothingness, lost identity, language loss, political hegemony, apartheid and post-colonial criticism. Compared with foreign countries, domestic research on Lamin is still in its infancy.
