At the end of the 20th century, internationally renowned narratologist David Herman, the editor-in-chief of Story-world: A Journal of Narrative Studies, took the lead in throwing “post-classical narratology ”(postclassical narratology) this topic, and from the cognitive science point of view made a preliminary exposition. But post-classical narratology is really well-known to academics after the publication of Narratologies: New Perspectives on Narrative Analysis (1999).
