By the end of February 2015, there were 983,000 medical and health institutions nationwide, including 26,000 hospitals, 918,000 grassroots medical and health institutions, 35,000 specialized public health institutions and 30,000 other institutions. Compared with the end of February 2014, the number of health institutions in the country increased by 7761, including 1,223 hospitals, 1895 primary health care institutions and 4,546 specialized public health institutions.
