Economic Value Added (EVA) is a new measure of corporate performance that overcomes the traditional shortcomings of evaluating corporate performance indicators and more accurately reflects the value created by the company for shareholders over a period of time. Gradually gaining wide application abroad after the mid-1990s became an important complement to the traditional performance measurement system. What differentiates it from other metrics is that EVA takes into account all the capital costs that drive your business profits. In other words, the net profit after tax acquired by the enterprise during the annual operation period should meet or exceed the total capital (including equity capital and debt capital) occupied by multiplying the weighted average cost of capital.
