From the natural economy to the commodity economy and even the market economy, we find that the relations of production can be leapfrogged in a certain sense and the actual productive forces can not be crossed. By examining classical economists, Marx’s discourse on cultural products shows that only with the participation of capital comes a genuine cultural industry. Since the entry of capital enables the cultural products to operate only on a market-based basis, the added value of capital can be realized. This makes a strict distinction between cultural industries and cultural undertakings and at the same time determines the characteristics of the market-oriented operation of cultural products.
